School Board Update

Thank you to our faithful Board members

Most of us at NCS will largely be unaware of the vital role that the members of the NCS Board play in ensuring that our school is well governed. This is because this team of faithful people, drawn from members of our parent community, carry out their role ‘behind the scenes’. They do not seek praise or public recognition. Instead, they have committed themselves to the task of ensuring that our school remains true to our core values and purpose statement.

These values are ‘care, community’ and ‘character’. Our purpose statement reads ‘Nowra Christian School partners with families in equipping students for life through the provision of quality, Christ-centred education, founded on Biblical values.’

I have the great privilege of working closely with our Board members as they attend regular monthly meetings and engage in a number of strategic planning days each year. On your behalf, I would wish to publicly acknowledge the dedicated service of Richard Chartier and Jemma Tribe, both of whom have retired from the Board during this year. Richard has faithfully served the Board, both as parent and grandparent, for a period of 15 years, since attending his first Board meeting in June 2007. Jemma has completed her two year term as a parent representative.

Our school held its Annual General Meeting on 25 May and at this meeting three new Board members were announced.

These new members are:

  • Gary Curline (Church representative)
  • Johnno Tallon (Church representative)
  • Fiona Lewis (Parent representative)

We are grateful for their willingness to serve our school in this important capacity and I trust that we will regularly uphold our Board members in prayer.
