Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

On the 27th of January I started a new journey here at Trinity not really knowing what lay ahead. I had heard wonderful things about the community and the staff and was hopefully for a great first year.  With a blink of the eye, which is how it feels, that year is now drawing to a close and I am so grateful to everyone here at Trinity who has truly made this a special place to be. The welcome I first felt from parents and children is something I know others who come to our school often highlight as one of our great strengths.  It has, without question, been another challenging year, but I hope it has been one that has  further strengthened our resolve to work together, supporting each other and facing challenges as one.  My special thanks to our wonderful staff who provide this caring, learning environment for our children. They are all so dedicated and professional and I am absolutely sure they have all earned a well deserved break.  Thank you to all of you, who as parents, have ensured your children have been ready and prepared for school both online and onsite. Special thanks to Fr Trung, our new Parish Priest, and Mrs Licia Marchese, as well as the entire Parish Team for their support especially in our recent sacramental programs. Finally a big thankyou to all our children who have been wonderful throughout, developing great resilience and maturity in this roller coaster of a year.

Staffing News

As often is the case, as we come to the end of another school year, a number of staff will be moving on and beginning new journeys in other places. I would like to thank each of them for all they have contributed in their time at Trinity and wish them all the very best for the next stage in their lives.

Ms Suzanne Grufferty and Ms Amy Nolan will be finishing at the end of the year and have both made the decision to return home to Ireland to be closer with their families.

Ms Celia Williamson will be taking up a new position at St Joseph's School in Malvern.

Ms Justine Colyer, who is originally from New South Wales, will be moving back home to start a new job in Maroubra . Ms Jasmine Wright, one of our amazing LSO's has also decided to move out of Melbourne and will be starting a new job in Geelong.  Finally we must say farewell to Mrs Lorraine Cappozzo who will be finishing up at Trinity this year after what has been an amazing career in education. Many of you may not know that Mrs Cappozzo has been a teacher and Principal before coming to Trinity to work here in the office. Mrs Cappozzo is an incredibly dedicated and passionate member of our team and will be dearly missed but we wish her all the very best as she begins a new part of her life journey.

Survey Data

As you would recall, earlier this year all our Year 4,5&6 students, all staff and many families completed the School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS). This data, which we have now received will provide great direction for further school improvement and will be incorporated into our school's annual action  plan.  I have included here a brief summary of some of the outcomes of our school surveys.

Principal Reflection

I would like to thank all staff, students and families who completed the 2021 MACS School Improvement surveys. The data gained gives us a comprehensive picture of the many areas we are working well in and those areas we can now focus on for further improvement. The school leadership team, along with all staff, will further review and use the three data sets throughout 2022 as part of our school improvement plan.

Most importantly I would like to acknowledge the importance I place on enabling all stakeholders in our community to have input into the sort of learning community we wish to create for all our children.  I look forward to our continued partnership in 2022.

Meet the teacher

On Tuesday 14th December all students returning to Trinity in 2022 will have the opportunity to meet their new teacher for next year.

Art Show: It takes a village and our village is Richmond

What a great success our Art Show turned out to be. After having to postpone in Term 3 and working through school lockdowns we were not sure when and if we would be able to successfully hold our Art show. However, with the great efforts of so many including Ms Georgie in Term 1 and of course Mrs Plackett and Ms Elloraine with Jasmine and Chloe we were able to present our children's amazing work. Congratulations to all our teachers and their classes I am sure they are all very proud.
