Principal Introduction

Dear EMC Community,

As we head towards the conclusion of the VCAA Year 12 exams we would like to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding work of our Year 12 cohort. Our students have arrived for all exams well prepared and determined to do their best. We have had excellent feedback from the chief examiner about student behavior, effort and their commitment to try their best. Students will be able to access results from the 16th December and we look forward to continuing to support students with accessing their preferred pathway until the 20th December.

This week the College commenced Step Up. Our staff have been excited to meet their new classes and have been busy preparing curriculum for a fantastic start to Step Up. Students will complete assessments in each new class during Step Up, parents and carers are encouraged to keep in touch with their child's teacher if they have any concerns. This is a great opportunity for students to reset learning behaviors and to consider their study routine and organisational habits in order to be the best version of themselves in each and every class.

Ms Wade ran VCAL information sessions for all 2022 Year 11 and Year 12 students on Tuesday last week. The sessions were invaluable for students to understand the expectations, resources and options that students have in the program. For any families that may have missed the session you will be able to access the recorded session. Ms Wade will be in touch with students as required.

The next few weeks will see students begin to enjoy the many external activities that school can offer. We have had our senior students preparing for the The Jaki Upward exhibition that is now online on our website, the Year 10 Formal, the Year 11 Winter Masquerade Ball and the Year 12 Valedictory. These evenings create a wonderful sense of community among our students and produce many lifelong memories. There are countless hours contributed by students and staff across the College towards these evenings and we look forward to celebrating and recognising the success of our students.
