FOOD FOR FAMILIES
Why we chose to take action in the community
In Year Six, Exhibition is a ten week project where we inquire into an issue we are passionate about.
We work in small groups to present our learning and take action in the community.
Our group’s topic is Homelessness. It links to our Central Idea which is ‘purposeful action provokes responsible change for a more sustainable future’.
From researching, we now understand the effects of homelessness and supporting those in need.
In the past, Murrumbeena Primary School has supported Food For Families and this year we are running the food drive as part of our Exhibition Action Element.
What is Food For Families?
Food For Families has been running for 29 years; the organisation was founded by Leader newspaper.
It is an organisation that supports the homeless and families in need by supplying them with basic necessities such as food and toiletries. Food and toiletries are a tangible way to help people in crisis.
