MPS Japanese Day

Nagoya, Japan

JAPANESE DAY- Next Wednesday 17 November

Japanese Day at Murrumbeena Primary is a celebration of all things Japanese. Students will take part in a variety of different activities connected to Japanese culture.

These activities tie in with their weekly Japanese lessons, but also present an opportunity to focus on culture, as well as language.

Students are encouraged to dress up for the day. It can be as simple as cherry blossoms as a hair decoration, a white shirt with a large red circle to represent the flag of Japan or a samurai helmet made from a sheet of newspaper.

Costumes can also be as creative and elaborate as a sushi roll, an anime character or a bottle of soy sauce.

The canteen is offering a special sushi lunch order. The deadline for ordering this is Wednesday 10 November

The menu for the SAKG also has a Japanese theme, so students in Year 3 and 4 will be able to enjoy preparing some Japanese food.
