Primary Presentation Day

We look forward to welcoming all Pre-Prep to Year 6 families to Primary Presentation Day on Wednesday 24 November. An invitation has been extended to one parent per family and two parents of award recipients. The celebrations will commence promptly at 8:40 am in the Assembly Hall. Guests will be asked to sign in and allocated seating will be advised. All Primary students, except for Pre-Prep, are requested to wear their formal uniform on this day.

Year 6 Celebration Chapel

On Friday 26 November, Year 6 students and parents/caregivers have been invited to an end of year Celebration Chapel commencing at 5:00 pm. All Year 6 students are to assemble in the Rose Garden near Circular Drive at 4:45 pm. Please ensure your daughters are wearing their formal uniform for this special occasion. 

Final Day Arrangements

Friday 3 December

School will finish for the year for all students (Pre-Prep to Year 11) on Friday 3 December at 12.50 pm.

 

Primary student collection is as follows:

Pre-Prep collection from the classroom at 12:50 pm
Prep - Year 2 collection from Circular Drive 12:40 pm - 12:50 pm
Years 3 - 4 and siblings collection from Circular Drive 12:50 pm - 1:00 pm
Years 5 - 6 collection from Bayview Terrace 12:50 pm - 1:00 pm
(Circular Drive only if they have a younger sibling)

End of Year Assembly and Class Parties

The Primary End of Year Assembly will commence at 8:40 am through to approximately 10:00 am in the Assembly Hall. This Assembly will be a celebration of all that has been achieved this year, including the announcement of our House Leaders and Sports Captains for 2022, farewelling our Year 6 students and some festive cheer.

 

Attendance at this event is for:

Two parents of a student being announced with a 2022 leadership position. Invitations to these parents will be emailed with a separate RSVP. 
 
One parent per family - Pre-Prep to Year 6. 

 

In accordance with COVID-19 requirements, please register your attendance via this link.

Upon arrival, all attendees must complete the Check-in Qld App.

 

Following this assembly, students will return to their classroom for end-of-year class parties. Correspondence regarding class parties will be communicated by your child’s classroom teacher in due course.

Shining Lights Film Festival

On Tuesday, the Primary students delighted in viewing the winning entries of the inaugural Shining Lights Film Festival. Thank you to all students who participated. Your creativity and effort was outstanding! The winners of each category received a $20 movie voucher, with the overall winner also taking on the role of Head of Primary for a day. The class with the most entries will receive a pizza and popcorn party.

Tico’s Treasures

Thank you to all Primary families for your support of the Green Team’s Tico’s Treasures stall. We are thrilled to announce all items sold out! The Green Team raised nearly $400 for the Tangalooma EcoMarines. What a wonderful achievement!

Uniform Swap

We are looking forward to hosting a uniform swap on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 November in the Assembly Hall from 8:00 am - 9:00 am. For gold coin donations, families will be able to trade Clayfield College uniform items in good condition. The swap will operate on an item for item basis. 

 

You are welcome to take your items directly to the Assembly Hall on Thursday or Friday for trading.

 

Alternatively, you may prefer to bring your items to the Primary Office by Tuesday 23 November. If you bring your items in early, please ensure you write your family name on a bag with the number of items enclosed. Receipt of these items will be recorded. On the trading days, all you will need to bring are your gold coin donations.

Britton Shield 2022

Clayfield College is excited to announce additional Britton Shield competitions for our boys in Years 2 to 6 in 2022. As well as Touch Football, Football and Cricket events, there will be Swimming, an Aquathon, Cross Country and AFL carnivals on offer. Clayfield College will be hosting the first event, Swimming, in March next year. 

 

We would like to invite boys in Years 2 to 6 in 2022 to the swimming training sessions held on Wednesdays from 6:45 am - 7:45 am and Fridays from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm (including 30 minutes of team building activities). To attend these sessions, the boys must be able to swim 25m of freestyle and backstroke. 

 

If your child is new to Clayfield Swimming, please call Clare on 0407690226 to arrange an assessment.

Student Achievement

Congratulations to Mackenzie Tull (Year 5), who competed at the Little Athletics regional relay championships on the 6 and 7 November. Makenzie ran the 200m leg, with her team placing third in the Swedish Relay. They have qualified for the state championships in December.

Andrews Cup Term 4 Presentations (Athletics, Basketball, Gymnastics)

 

Please be advised that Andrews Cup Term 4 Presentations (including Athletics from Term 3), will be held on Tuesday 30 November, 11:55 am – 12:20 pm in the Chapel. 

 

One parent of a student receiving an award will be permitted to attend this event. Invitations to these parents have been emailed.
