Year 7-9 Bear Illustration Competition
This term, the Year 7, 8 & 9 art students completed an Illustration Task after being inspired by the writer and graphic illustrator, Mandy Ord. Our students created their own illustrations of three bears, they were able to use any media and materials to complete the task.
Our talented students were asked to choose their favourite illustration to display, which they would enter into our competition. There was a vast array of outstanding artworks across all three year levels. The judging panel debated long and hard in order to choose the three finalists for each year level.
We would like to congratulate everyone on their outstanding work.

A special message from Mandy Ord…
Thanks so much for sending through the pictures of the artwork the students created.
I am so impressed. Their work looks fantastic!!!
Love the bears, they look good all together like that. Wonderfully colourful and so many great designs.
It’s one thing I miss seeing when I present the Zoom workshops, seeing the outcome from the students.
It’s my favourite thing to see their work, so thank you for sharing these with me.
Please pass on my congratulations to them.
Cheers,
Mandy
Symbolist Mixed Media Artwork
Year 10 Visual Art students studied the work of the Symbolist poets and artists and created a Symbolist styled artwork, based on their interpretation of the song lyrics, Red Right Hand.
Year 10 Photography Still Life
Students investigated and developed individual concepts in order to create a series of Still Life photographs. They then refined their images to choose one image which represented their personal theme. I would like to congratulate them on their successful images. The students achieved a high standard and completed the majority of this work during remote learning.
