Year 8 News

After what has been a very challenging year, our fabulous Year 8 students proved once again, just how resilient they are! They have adjusted themselves back into the classroom brilliantly and have enjoyed reconnecting with their peers.  

On Monday 15th November, the Year 8 camp commenced at The Summit in Trafalgar East. Over 3 days the Year 8s participated in an outdoor adventure, enjoying activities such as the giant swing, laser skirmish, Snowy river challenge and a monster course that left not one student dry! Everyone got outside of their comfort zone and got comfortable with being uncomfortable. Well done to all Year 8s who got involved and played all in! We would also like to thank the 15 GEC staff members who came with us, The Summit staff for making it engaging and Kelli Lawson who worked tirelessly behind the scenes making it all possible! 

As 2021 comes to an end, it provides us a perfect opportunity to reflect on everything that we have learnt from and achieved this year. Take time away from your screens these holidays and connect with friends and family. To the Year 8s of 2021, Mr Zuccala and I are so proud of you all and wish you all the very best for your transition into Year 9.
