Dear Sacred Heart School Community

School Production

The big day has finally arrived (no, not the beginning of the Ashes Test series, but our production of Peter Pan). All is ready for a sensational night. After watching yesterday's rehearsal, I know there are going to be a lot of very proud parents and guardians at the Thornbury Theatre tonight. A final reminder that our students need to be in the theatre by 6.30pm tonight and for those attending, it is a fully vaccinated event.

Below are a couple of shots from yesterday's rehearsal.

We ask all parents and guardians to refrain from videoing the school production tonight. As you will be aware, we have enlisted the services of a company who will provide a live stream and recording later. This arrangement means that there is copyright on the production. You are welcome to take photos without impinging on the view of those audience members behind you.

Year Six Graduating Class

On Monday night we honour our 2021 Year Six class with a special graduation ceremony in the school grounds. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our twenty two graduating students and thank each for the invaluable contribution they have made to our school. Each has brought their own unique gifts to our school, and Sacred Heart has been a much richer place because of their presence. I would like to wish each student the very best as they embark on the next exciting stage of their life's journey.

I would like to acknowledge our departing families for their contribution to our school and for the manner in which they have worked with us during their child's education at Sacred Heart. We bid farewell and wish every happiness to the:

Keogh Family                             Roney Family                                  Boubis Family

Claite-Hearne Family              De Vincenti Family                       Calabro-Ori Family

Farewells

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Liz Yandell for her contribution to our school over the past nine years. During her time at Sacred Heart, Liz has filled a number of very important roles and has been a regular member of our school's leadership team. With great passion and diligence, Liz has held the Learning Diversity, Literacy, Wellbeing and Deputy Principal positions, and in each, has initiated or been part of the group responsible for implementing strategies and programs to facilitate school improvement. I would like to particularly thank Liz for her support of me and helping me be a better principal these past three terms in her Deputy Principal role. Liz's experience came to the fore as she met the day to day challenges of running a school with skill and calmness. On your behalf I would like to wish Liz and Mick very happiness as they embark on their sea change.

I would also like to thank Kartia and Alex who have worked this year as Learning Support Officers. Both are training to be teachers and showed with their ability to develop close relationships with the students, that they will be great teachers. On behalf of our school community, I would like to wish Kartia and Alex every happiness and success in their future teaching careers.

School Reports Parent Portal

A letter went home yesterday detailing how to access your child's report through the parent portal.

Instructions on how to access the nForma Parent Portal will be sent out to the email addresses that have been previously supplied to the school. These emails will be sent out on Friday 10th December.

It is very important that you have updated your email addresses with the school, as an automated email containing instructions and login details will come from  no-reply@nforma.com.au and not the school. Please ensure that you check your junk/spam folder for an email from that address.

It is highly recommended that you use a computer to access your child’s reports for the first time. Subsequent logins can be made on a mobile device if preferred.

Once you have followed the instructions, you will be able to view your child’s report online.

Once in the portal you will need to choose your child (if you have more than one at our school) and then choose the reporting component.

Forgotten passwords:

If you have forgotten your password, please follow the 'forgotten password' link. Please note that your new password needs to be at least 7 characters long and must include at least one non alpha-numeric character, e.g. *, - / or similar.

If you have requested a password reset and the email does not appear, please look in your junk/spam folder for an email from no-reply@nforma.com.au.

If you have any questions or issues, please email Jess Herrick; jherrick@shpreston.catholic.edu.au

A Final Christmas Message from the Library

"Books make great gifts because they have whole worlds inside of them. And it's much cheaper to buy somebody a book than it is to buy them the whole world!" (Neil Gaiman)

Wishing all our students and families and a happy Christmas together and a safe and relaxing holiday. See you in 2022!

With best wishes,

Gerry & Liz
