ESafety Commissioner Resources

Thank you to those parents who joined me online for the Office of the Commissioner for eSafety parent guide to digital technologies and mental health with The Council of Catholic School Parents NSW/ACT. The Presentation was conducted by Greg Gebhart who is a good friend of the College, having presented here for the Commissioner in 2018-2019.

There are many resources on the Office of eSafety Commissioner website which can support students, parents, families and schools in navigating the contemporary issues of safeguarding our students online.

Please find below the button links to the detailed summary sheets below for your reference:

Student Attendance

All students and families are reminded that attendance at school is a foremost factor in safeguarding student wellbeing, underpinning success at key stages in school and educational transition points. The program of rich learning activities continues right to end of the school year.  Please ensure your son’s full attendance right to the end of the school year, and even beyond 3 December in the case of some students for assistance with Social Justice, Community Service and Outreach Programs, including the Hamper Distribution from St Anthony’s Parish Terrey Hills.

It is great when students volunteer for extra curricula community services, however where school time needs to be made up there are occasions where students “Volunteer” by their actions or absences from key school events!

HSC Maths - Year 12 and 11s

In a great rite of passage for our Year 11 cohort taking on the mantle of school leadership an “advance party” of our Maths accelerant students joined their Year 12 counterparts in sitting the HSC Advanced Maths Paper last Monday and Extension 1 on Friday. While Mr Garvey’s Year 12 students are nearer to the end of their HSC journey and happier to finish as a result it was a great learning experience and step in their journey for Mr Kennedy’s Year 11 students in our Advanced Maths class.

Similarly pleased with their efforts were the Biology classes of Ms Black and Mr Varjavandi who sat their exam on Monday. For Mrs Black, after many years as Year and Science Coordinator it was her last HSC cohort. We hope the students did them proud and look forward to the HSC Results BBQ on 24 January to celebrate with our entire HSC Class of 2021.

Year Group Social Justice and Pastoral Care Founder's Days

After last Wednesday’s Year 8 Founder's Day featuring Olympic Kayaker Jo Brigden-Jones, this week Year 7 enjoyed their day on Tuesday and Year 9 today.
