Teaching & Learning

Report Cards

Semester 2 report cards will be sent out via email in week 10. Academic reporting involves communicating information to parents and students about student achievement and progress for each learning area and/or subject undertaken, at a point in time. This semester, teachers are reporting on all Key Learning Areas.  If your contact details have changed, please ensure you update the office so that it arrives in your inbox!

Assessment and Moderation

As we near the end of the year, students are busily working through assessments in preparation for report writing. Assessment is an integral part of curriculum delivery. Teachers plan, design and implement assessment to monitor and gather evidence of student learning and achievement.

In week 7, teachers will participate in moderation activities to ensure consistency of judgement when marking assessment tasks. Teachers will look at:

  • standards – use achievement standards to ensure consistent and accurate teacher judgments
  • evidence – gather evidence of student learning against the relevant achievement standards to ensure consistent and accurate teacher judgments
  • consensus – reach consensus (agreement) to ensure consistent and accurate teacher judgments.

Learning Celebration

Our yearly learning celebration will occur in week 10. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the academic, cultural and behavioural successes of our students and reflect on the learning that has occurred this year. Year 6 students will be visiting their respective high schools on this day & they will celebrate their achievements at Graduation on Monday 6th December.  The parents of students receiving awards will receive an invitation before the event.

Oral Health Van

Last week, students had the opportunity to visit the West Moreton Oral Health Education Van. Students learned all about caring for their oral health in a fun, innovative and exciting way. Lucky students received an information pack and a new toothbrush to keep their smiles shining brightly!

Homework Centre

We still have some spaces left on all 3 days- students are still welcome to join.  We run Monday, Tuesday & Thursdays - 2:45 to 3:45 it includes staff to support homework activities like, reading, sight words & number facts as well as afternoon tea.
