Back to School
Having all the children back after the Cup weekend has been great. They appear very happy to be back at school, and the teachers are also glad to be back and teaching face to face. It is a bit like being a rugby player at the start of the season; you need to get match fit again. For that reason, I think it will take everyone a bit of time to get back to match fitness for school.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will need to ensure that all the children settle back in being at school every day. Also, the staff will need to get back into commuting to work every day after months of working from home.
Coming to work during the lockdown down the Monash was very easy. It did, though, remind me that many people were out of work and stuck at home. About a month ago, the Monash started getting busy again, and now that it is back to normal, you know that the city is coming to life and that we are on the way to what life was like in Melbourne before Covid.
We are now able to have people other than staff come into the school. We can have existing parents on-site and show prospective parents through the school. Everyone who does go into school has to show their vaccination certificate.
We will be encouraging the children to wear face masks at school; however, we do not want this to be stressful for parents. If you get to school and realise that you have left your child’s mask at home, that will not be a problem. We have boxes of masks at school if they are needed.
End of Year
The following information was in a previous newsletter; however, I thought I would mention the end of year events due to the easing of restrictions.
When we select a date for any term four activities like Graduation and Prize Giving, we will not change the date should any COVID restrictions vary. Events have been organised so they can be undertaken on-site or online. In the past, changing dates in the hope our school community would attend in person has created confusion and stopped parents from planning. The only exception to this is Confirmation. Confirmation is rescheduled for November 18 at 6 pm.
Enrolments
Enrolments for 2022 are still open. If you or anyone you know would like to enrol, please contact the school office on 9791 1853 for an enrollment form. If you have an enrolment form, please return it to the school as soon as possible. If your child is not returning to Holy Family next year, please let the school know as soon as possible.
Our Patch
Some families have had difficulties with the paperwork involved with enrolling children in before and after school care. I will be meeting with the Our Patch people this week to see how we can make the enrolment process work better for our families. Our Patch will offer an excellent service for our families and children. We will do our best to make sure it is easily accessible for everybody.

Steve Twomey.
