YEAR 9 OES

WILSON PROM HIKE

EXCURSIONS ARE BACK!

On Tuesday the Year 9 OES visited Wilson Prom for a hike up Mt Oberon and a trip on the Pennicott Wilderness boat. The amphibious boat tour visits many places along the coast of the national park including the most southern point of mainland Australia, seal colonies, Skull Rock, Anser Island and Glennie Island. This group were lucky enough to spot dolphins on the way back to Norman beach and had the dolphins swim at the bow of the boat, Mother and calf playfully jumping and swimming just below the surface. A highlight for sure. A lot of enjoyment also came from the boat heading over the increasing swell.

The afternoon weather was perfect for the 3.4km climb to the top of Mt Oberon. The early cloud cover lifted and the views were amazing from the top as we looked over the Tidal River camp ground and the path that Tidal River took. Students were able to point out the places that we had been on the ecotour and watch sets roll into the beach at Norman Bay.
