SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS

Another year of difficult conditions for students preparing for assessment & exams – but we are almost there!

VCAA EXAMS are underway for Unit 3-4 students and the comments from our Chief examiner Gary McGrath include:

  • “ What a great bunch of students!”
  • “They are all so focussed – heads down and working, beautifully, most staying right until the end of every exam.”
  • “No one has been late…all calm, ready and & well prepared.”

This makes us so proud, so I would like to extend a H U G E congratulations to the class of 2021 and  how they have conducted themselves during this stressful time. We continue to meet & greet our students as they enter the Masonic Hall in Korumburra from now until the 16th November. Best of Luck to everyone!  Staff are now looking forward to celebrating with these students at Valedictory evening; Friday 19th November at Harman’s Winery.

YEAR 10-11 EXAMS

As a whole school we are well and truly in exam mode! This year the Year 10 & 11 exam period is from MONDAY 15TH NOVEMBER until FRIDAY 19TH NOVEMBER.

A Senior school exam timetable has been posted to all students (and families) in Year 10 & 11 on Compass, as an attachment. Unit 1-2 students (including some Year 10s) will have their individual exams added to their Compass schedules by the end of the week.

Any students who have ‘clashes’ with their exam timetable have already been identified, but if you are unable to attend an exam next week – for any reason – please contact Ms Neill in the Senior school ASAP, so we can re-schedule for you.

HEADSTART 2021– is the program we run at KSC to get all our students ‘2022 ready!’ In the Senior School this will mean all our students experiencing their Year 10, VCAL or VCE classes often for the first time. It is a chance to meet your teachers and classmates, prepare for the first Outcomes / CATs you will need to complete, and understand what is required of you over the summer break. Your attendance is required each day of this program.

VCAL students must also attend HEADSTART from November 22nd until their last day of classes on the 3rd December. They will attend the classes on their Compass schedule – Monday, Tuesday & Thursday for two weeks.

WORK EXPERIENCE – Miss Burdett & Year 10 mentors have been busily working with Year 10 students to ensure that their required paperwork is in place and workplace safety courses completed online. This will run from Monday 6th to Friday 17th December. Please contact the Senior School Office with any work experience queries. Good luck to all these students who are taking up these important opportunities.
