From the Principal...

Dear Parents and Friends of St Therese's School,

“Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9)

This week, we celebrate the second week of Advent. As we light the second purple candle, we pray for PEACE. Peace in our homes, peace in our school and peace in our world.

Only 7 more school days are left for the year and still so much to do! This week on Friday 13th December, we will formally congratulate and celebrate our Year Six students as they graduate from primary school.

Next week, we will hold our last Assembly on Monday and our last Whole School Mass in the School Hall with Father Joseph will be held on the students' last day - Thursday 19th December at 11:30am. At this Mass, our Year Six students will pass the Light of Christ to the Year Five students as our Year Five students take up the mantle of leaders in our school. If you are available, we would love to see you at this special occasion.

Christmas Nativity Concert

Last Thursday evening, we were entertained by the students of St Therese's who performed for us a beautiful nativity concert. I think just about every student attended and the Hall was overflowing with proud families! It was a lovely night. Thanks to Miss Jackie Bishop and her team of helpers in putting this concert together. It really feels like Christmas is coming now after the beautiful songs! Well done to all the teachers, support staff and especially to the students for making this evening so memorable.

Canteen finishes this week

This week is the last week for the canteen this year. There will be no canteen on Monday 16th or Wednesday 18th December. I would like to thank Mrs Kirsten Beshara for her work in the canteen while Mrs Lynn Harris has been away.

The last Subway for the year is this Friday 13th December. Thank you to Taryn Alvaro and her team of helpers who have organised Subway for us this year.

Next year, I will be looking for parents to assist with Subway, Canteen and Wednesday Brekky Club.

Last Day - Thursday 19th December at 1:30pm

Don't forget the students' last day is Thursday 19th December at 1:30pm.

School will resume for students on Thursday 30th January for all students Foundation to Year Six.

I hope you all have a happy week and may peace be with you in this second week of Advent!

Yours in partnership,
