100 Days of School

By James Barry

On the 26th of July 2018, we celebrated 100 days of school. We did lots of activities on a grid in the Brolga room.

Lots of students did the stacking 100 cups, including myself and Gav.  Students did pyramids and fishes also even castles.

Next is spinning a spinning top for 100 seconds or 1min, 40secs. Students thought it was very challenging. The spinning tops had a little ink nib at the bottom that made it draw and also made the table really messy.

The next activity was 100 linking bricks where student had to link 100 linking blocks together. Some students made straight lines, other students did boxes and loads of other things. The other activity is the 100-piece puzzle.  Students had to complete a 100-piece puzzle ranging from flowers to dinosaurs.  Students had trouble doing this, only a few completed this.

Next was the art challenge where students had to make something out of the number 100.  Students did faces, a truck and monsters. The next activity was how long it took to do 100 sit-ups or star jumps. Lots of students did star jumps instead of sit-ups. The other activity is sticking 100 pegs on your clothes. This is where students put 100 pegs on them self but lots of students had partners to do this as there wasn’t enough pegs for everyone.

The next activity is linking 100 paper chains only a few students did this.  Students grabbed some pieces of paper and made a big paper chain.

And the final activity is when I’m 100 years old.  All students had to do this activity which you had to write if you were 100 years old.  Where you are living, what was your career?  What was your biggest accomplishment and what did you do with your family?  Students also got a picture of them self as if they were old.

We had a lot of laughs.  It was a fantastic day to celebrate being at school for 100 days.
