Visual Art & Digi Tech

In Digi Tech this week

In Digi Tech, this week, the Brolga and Eagles Nest have been discovering Binary numbers.  The students have started counting to at least 16 in base two.  Ask your clever kids if they know what these binary numbers are:  0101, 1111, 1001.

The grade 1/2s have had a play with the computer program Paint.  They have drawn rectangles and triangles and also used the paint bucket feature to colour.

Visual Art

Over the past few weeks in visual art, Years 5/6, 3/4, 2/3/4 and 1/2 have been creating Sydney multi-media landscapes. We made an observational drawing of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and used water colour paint to colour in the sky and sea. Next we etched our interpretation of the Sydney Opera House in foam then made a print of it. We then glued it onto our Sydney Harbour landscape, for 3D effect we glued coloured paper triangles on the water to represent the boats. They look AMAZING!

The Prep, One class used inks and salt to create their pre-historic background. They drew volcanos, dinosaurs and trees on black paper and then cut them out as silhouettes and glued them to their bright and colourful background. The Prep, One class have been very creative with what they have done to their work and because of their terrific creativity they now look FABULOUS!
