Girls' AFL
The Beaumaris Saints made an impressive debut at last week's Beachside divisional titles in challenging windy conditions at Le Page Park in Cheltenham. After a narrow loss to Albert Park and a competitive showing against Mentone Girls, our team stormed home with comprehensive performance against Cheltenham. The Beaumaris Saints scored 4:6: 30 whilst keeping their opposition scoreless. It is worth noting that the majority of our opposition on the day consisted of students from Year 8.
Our girls attack on the football and support for each other was impressive throughout the day. They played hard, but exceptionally fair and represented Beaumaris with distinction on and off the field. A special thanks to St Kilda Football club who provided our playing jumpers on the day and also a big thank-you to the parents who were able to attend and support the girls. The team was Zoe Rombotis (c), Lara Barker, Holly Bowles, Charli Cowan, Olivia De Zeeuw, Maya Desylva, Harriet Egan, Aimee Farrow, Charlie Forte, Chloe Johnson, Raven Kaifa, Meg Lambert, Raph Loeper, Sophie McCubbery, Holly Meyer, Phoenix Moore, Esme Murray- White, Mia Osler, Alice Tedstone, Taylor Wade and Margot Worthy.
Southern Metro Regional Softball
The girls softball team played in the Southern Metropolitan Finals on May 4. We won our first 2 games and we were thrilled to be competing in the Final against Frankston SC. The girls were fantastic the way they supported each other and cheered each other on. The competition was fierce and we finished the day as runners up. It was a memorable experience and we were very proud to bring home the first team pennant for Beaumaris Secondary College. Congratulations to all of the girls, they showed great sporting behaviour and teamwork.

Boys Netball
Congratulations to the boys netball team for winning the Beachside Division Junior Boys Netball competition on Equal Opportunity Day. It was a fantastic effort to be able to field two teams with extended benches in the competition, and such was the strength of the teams, that the teams ended up playing off in the final to determine the winner of the round robin.
The Beaumaris boys netball team will now play in the Southern Metropolitan Region finals in Term 3.
Southern Metro Regional Tennis
On Friday 4th of May our boys and girls tennis teams had the opportunity to compete at the Southern Metropolitan Finals. The group of 6 boys and 4 girls waited patiently as we faced the uncertain weather conditions and wet courts at Dendy Park. When play finally commenced, the boys completed all their pool matches undefeated. The girls also played exceptionally well. Not only were they undefeated in their pool matches, they didn’t lose a single game either.
The boys played extremely well in a close final where they finished ‘Runners up’. The girls had a nail biting finish as they were drawn on games at the end of the 4 singles but two very convincing wins in the doubles helped them finish on top as ‘Winners’.
I would like to congratulate the boys Joshua, Felix, Max, Joseph, Oliver, Joel and the girls Norway, Claudia, Raphaelle, Chloe for their excellent tennis and team spirit as they represented Beaumaris with pride and enthusiasm.
It was great being part of this whole experience with you and well done for bringing home the flags. I look forward to the State finals in November with the girls!

The GOAL group tug-o-war provided a great post cross country spectacle with Beckett 4 proving too strong not only for Southern 7 in the final, but also for our staff in a 'friendly' contest in what was the culmination of a fun afternoon.
