House Reports
Hopkins
The Hopkins House is rallying to the end of the term with lots of fantastic news and events to share. This year’s effort in our athletics and swimming carnivals was just fantastic to see. We are very proud of the amazing effort displayed by students throughout in all events. At the athletics carnival the relay teams were a sea of blue with a team participating in all the age group relays which was a first for the house. We had many students move into the next round of competitions and Hopkin’s House would like to congratulate all students who put in an amazing effort involved. We finished an overall 2nd in the athletics coming from last in 2018, which is extraordinary and we can not wait for next year.
Hopkins House would like to congratulate Jesse Suter, Bailey Kelp, Madison Heyden, Mitchell and Jayden Annett and Hannah Garner who were age champions and put in a sensational effort on the day!
A busy first term wouldn’t be complete without our year 7 & 8 camps. The involvement from all students especially the new year 7 students was outstanding to see. Our leaders have also been very busy this term setting the foundations for a great year of philanthropy.
On Wednesday the 3rd of April our student leaders visited the Francis Foundation. During the visit students were able to talk to and have a sit-down dinner with the residents of the Francis Foundation. The visit was a great opportunity to see the work being done at the foundation to help those in our community struggling with mental health. One of the goals our leaders set at the leadership camp last year was for students to have a better understanding and connection with Francis Foundation and the visit was the first step in cementing a greater connection with the local charity we support.
Here at Hopkins we have fun by working hard and staying positive.
