SEA Team Term 1
SEA Team Term 1 Report
The SEA Team Leaders have enjoyed a successful first term.
Four student representatives (Georgena Cox, Jayda Page, Jasmin Prakash and Hamish Morrow) attended the Leaders Congress – Day of Inspiration at Deakin University in March. We enjoyed hearing from Sarah Wall, Ben Harkin and Mat Bowtell who inspired us to be better leaders in our communities and who make a difference every day. They really have made us all think differently about how we live our lives and lead our schools.
Our SEA team’s work of leadership BY DOING now begins. We have been challenged to ‘solve a health and wellbeing problem in our community’ – quite a challenge!
The entire SEA team have been working together to settle on a project idea and have decided that they would like to help disadvantaged young people within our community, particularly those facing homelessness. After speaking with Brophy and Head Space, we have decided to partner with ‘Share the Dignity’, an organisation who make a real, on-the-ground difference to homeless people and victims of domestic violence. Share the Dignity collects toiletries and personal hygiene products for those experiencing homelessness and poverty, because small dignities can make a big difference.
The SEA Team will be launching their collection drive during week one of term two.
