Head of Junior School Report

The Junior School are certainly cramming every last ounce out of the 2019 school year. Students from Foundation to Year 4 have been very busy completing work based on this terms Inquiry Unit theme ‘creativity’. They have also participated in the Royal Life Saving Victoria ‘Sink or Swim’ incursion and First Aide in Schools.
We have had our first transition morning with our 2020 Foundation students and we warmly welcome them to our school and our class dojo community.
Our Year 4 students have been participating in a range of transition activities as they commence their journey into the Middle School.
Our Year 3 students have been hard at work writing and rehearsing their house leadership speeches with 18 students raising their hand and applying for the 8 2020 House Leader Positions. Before the end of the month our Year 3’s will spend a morning with their 2020 Foundation buddy where they will take them on a tour of the school highlighting out of bounds areas, play with them in the playground and complete a classroom based activity with them too. We also have our last Junior School assembly scheduled for Monday 25th November with our Foundation to Year 2 students performing ‘The little red hen’. The assembly will commence at 9am and we warmly welcome all members of our broader school community to attend and witness this very special presentation.
Our Junior School Disco was fantastic, all students (and staff) had a fun afternoon, check out our video below which captures some of the mood and the moves!
As I write this report we are in the midst of preparing for our Year 1 dinner and Year 2 sleepover at school which we look forward to at the end of this week.
Warm regards,
Mrs Mary Swoffer
