Parish News

'We are committed to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children and vulnerable adults.'

From the Parish

“Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed

indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you." (Luke 14:13-14)

We have a difficult time with the concept of giving without expecting something in return. Even when we give to charity

we often want something in return – a raffle ticket, a dinner, a chance to play golf or our name in print. Yet, as Christian stewards, we need to remember that the true reward for our giving awaits us in heaven.

A Father's Day Blessing

A Father's Day Blessing

We pray for God's blessing on all the men

who have "fathered" us in their role as mentors and guides.

May you be blessed for your efforts to become the best "father" you can be.

We ask for God's blessing on those fathers

who balance the demands of work, marriage, and children

We ask for God's blessing on fathers who,

despite family division, have remained in their children's lives.

We ask for God's blessing on fathers and grandfathers

who continue to give your children, now grown,

together with their children your love and support.

We ask for God's blessing on stepfathers,

who have chosen their family to nurture

We ask for God's blessing

on those men who have no children,

but who guide the next generation.

We ask for God's blessing on

those men who are about to become fathers;

may they be a source of life and love for their children.

We ask for God's blessing

on our fathers and other significant men who have died,

but who live on in our memory

and whose love continues to guide and inspire us.

God our Father, Bless these men,

that they may be always honoured, respected and appreciated

for all they are and all they do

Happy Father's Day.

Amen

ST. ANTHONY'S CHRISTMAS FAIR

ST. ANTHONY'S CHRISTMAS FAIR

Our Carnival for 2019 is taking on a new look.

St. Anthony's Christmas Fair

will be held on Saturday, 7 December 2019.

As church renovations will be well on its way,

we are making a few changes

to the setup and adding some new flavours to the mix.

We are hoping to have a plant stall:

jam, chutney and pickle stall;

and even fruit and vegetables from your own backyard stall.

So this is an early notice

to those interested to get your plants blooming

and jams boiling in time for the Christmas Fair.

Anyone interested in running a stall

or have any ideas for stalls

please feel free to email us at

StAnthonysNPEvents@gmail.com,

call Glen D'Cunha on 0422 892 541

or Suzan Gerreyn on 0497 478 662.
