Stage 1 - 1K ELC Building Inquiry

One of the Foundation classes here at Good Shepherd Lutheran Para Vista, had the privilege to explore the ELC building site in past weeks.  Russell the Project Manager ensured that all the children were adequately supervised and wearing the correct vests to remain visible.  Here is some of the thinking that the children have been doing about our building site.  I wonder what thoughts your child has as you drive by?

I See - a person wearing white clothes(Madelyn).

- a big bin. (Jake)

- that the bricks are off. (Miane)

- they are cleaning the bricks. (Jake)

- a big truck and a trailer. (Kohen)

I Think - he was trying to protect himself. (Ashleigh)

- they could put things they don't need in there (Jake).

- they can build it without the old bricks. (Edwin)

- they are making it bigger. (Curtis)

- graffiti makes us sad. (Zeyna)

I Wonder - if he was going to take a bad thing out of the house? (Ashleigh)

- where do they take it when it is filled up. (Curtis)

- why they smashed it down? (Jake)

- if they will put new pipes in? (Jake)

- if the orange digger will be there next time? (Piper)

It is wonderful to hear these inquiry questions and wonderings come from our children.  It is the power of listening to them that promotes the enthusiasm for learning!  I wonder how many of these children will one day become engineers, builders and designers themselves?
