Careers Corner

Using The JOB JUMP Website Puts You A Big Jump Ahead

Our school subscribes to a fantastic careers website called Job Jump. This subscription enables all students in Years 10, 11 and 12 to search careers types or university courses based on their anticipated ATAR score and on their subjects of interest. They can store their resume here and find out exactly what HSC subjects they need to study to give themselves the best chance of gaining entry to the degree, diploma or pathway program they want to study.

Each week we receive a bulletin outlining courses, scholarships and other opportunities offered by education and training organisations. We highly recommend parents and carers read these.

UAC – Equity Scholarships

Equity Scholarships (ES) help financially disadvantaged students with the costs associated with tertiary study. Details of requirements for individual scholarships can be found on the institution websites.

UAC - Schools Recommendation Schemes (SRS)

Schools Recommendation Schemes (SRS) are one way institutions make early offers of undergraduate admission to Year 12 students. They do this by using criteria other than (or in addition to) the ATAR. You must apply through UAC for undergraduate admission in 2019–20 to be eligible for SRS. Find out more

UAC - Access and Scholarships Programs Brochure

This year UAC’s new Access and Scholarships Programs brochure has a summary of information on applying for access and scholarship programs through UAC. Download the brochure

Educational Access Schemes (EAS) - UAC

Institutions acknowledge that difficult circumstances can prevent students from reaching their true academic potential, particularly if their educational performance has been affected by long-term disadvantage beyond their control and choosing. Educational Access Schemes (EAS) can help you gain access to tertiary study if your ATAR is below the course cut-off.

How to decide on a uni (when you can't visit the campus)

Things are changing fast, so it’s important to check in with your university of interest regularly, but most of the usual opportunities to visit a campus in person are temporarily off the table. ACU have some directions to give you.
