A note from Mr Jackson

Heather’s Farewell Assembly

All are invited to attend Heather’s final day at Rosanna Primary as Principal, at her final assembly next Wednesday 28 August at 2:45pm in the Chandler Hall. Classes have taken up a diverse range of ways to say goodbye such as; decorating her car parking space, editing a ‘A Day in the Life of Mrs McIntosh’ video, flooding her office with plastic balls, arranging a pop up gallery of portraits, plus many other expressions of farewell. Our final gathering will be an opportunity to celebrate her contribution to Rosanna Primary.

Characters Come to Life

Today the school was populated by a huge group of book characters that have sprung to life from the pages of so many loved books. It has been a joy speaking with students about favourite books and characters. Reading continues to be an opportunity for all to explore spaces and places never imagined. I encourage you to speak with your child about the characters they met during the day. Thanks to all those who shared in the day.

Working Bee Rescheduled

Defeated by the cold and rainy snap earlier in the month our Working Bee has been rescheduled for Saturday 31 August between 9:00am and 12:00pm. We have a diverse range of grasses, bushes and trees that the Preps are eager to plant (as well as many others volunteers). Please consider wearing some sturdy shoes, slapping on a hat and joining us to plant, weed, repair edging, fix garden beds, paint and spruce up the school.

Child Safety Conversation Invitation

Our school has been recognised by the Victorian Registration Authority (VRQA) as leading the state in the implementation of Child Safe Standards. In generating resources to support school they are eager to speak with a group of six parents on Monday 2 August at 5:00pm about their experiences of Child Safety within the school. If you are interested to find out more about the sessions or register your interest in attending, please contact the office.

Road Safety

We are fortunate to have two crossings that are supervised prior to and after school hours. These ensure the safety of all who come to and fro from our school. It is important that during these congested times at our school these crossings are utilised appropriately and under the direction of the council staff provided. We are all responsible for keeping our community safe and modelling safe ways to cross roads.
