PFA Update

Nadine Power, PFA President

Farewell to 2022 and thank you

What a fabulous year we’ve had! In my first year as President of the PFA, I've had the pleasure of welcoming back our Kilvington community to a huge range of events and activities that keep us connected and strengthen the sense of community our School is known for.

Thank you to everyone who signed up for a role throughout 2022. No matter how large or small your contribution, we greatly appreciate your time and efforts. Life is busy, so every minute shared is truly a gift and appreciated by all. Without all your help, all this magic would not happen.

Remember, all Kilvington families are members of the PFA, and I encourage each one of you to investigate how you may be able to get involved in PFA activities, programs and events.

Exciting times are ahead in celebrating our centenary year together next year! Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year. I can't wait to see what we can achieve in 2023!

Year 7 2023 catchup at Packer Park

Last Saturday, the Year 7 cohort for 2023 gathered at Packer Park to welcome new and existing families and to get to know one another. There was a wonderful turnout, with lots of smiles and chatting as everyone enjoyed the sausage sizzle put on by the PFA.

A huge thanks to Senior School VP Natasha Lowe and the wonderful Matthew Nation for running this very special event.

We look forward to another catchup in Packer Park for the 2023 Year 7 families on Sunday 19 February from 4.00 to 5.00pm.

Thank you to our BBQ volunteers

As Victorians headed out to vote in the State election, the PFA held an Election Day Sausage Sizzle and Bake Sale at Dalton Hall to provide sausages for all.

A massive thank you to Wendy McMillian for coordinating and running the event and to everyone who took the time to assist on the day, including: Alex Hopley, Ana Cook, Annaliese Allen, Ash Cooper, Briohny Marshall, Charles Griplas, Chelsie Dickson, Daniel Moore, Dave Schar, Elena Wilson, Emily Munnerley, Fiona Godfrey, Georgia Place, Janelle Willers, Janny Araki, Jo Duke, Luke Johnston, Marnie Turner, Megan Moore, Megan O’Connor, Natasha Lowe, Nikki C, Rosetta Scicluna, Scott Krischock, Simone Murray, Tanya Ferguson and Toby Allen. Your help is much valued and allowed us to raise funds for the School. Also, many thanks to Fletchers Glen Eira for their support of the event.

Congratulations to Ada Shi

Congratulations to Ada Shi on being the Judy Allen Award winner for 2023.

This prestigious award recognises a member of our community who has made an outstanding contribution to the School for more than five years. It is based on nominations received from our community. Congratulations Ada!

CSRs

Thank you to our wonderful CSRs who have been busy arranging catchups, dinners, pizza nights, coffee mornings, roller skating, bowling and a whole lot more throughout the year. After a few turbulent years, it has been so great to gather our year level cohorts together once again.

We are looking for people to take on a CSR role for 2023. If you would like to step into this incredible rewarding and important role, either individually or with others from your cohort, please sign up here. Thank you.

Secondhand Uniform Shop (SHUS)

A huge thank you to the Secondhand Uniform Shop (SHUS) Coordinator, Briohny Marshall, and her team of fantastic volunteers for operating the shop so expertly each month.

This valuable service allows families to buy and sell good quality uniform items and helps to raise funds for the PFA to further support the School. A win-win situation!

The first SHUS opening for 2023 will be held on Saturday 4 February from 9.00 to 11.00am in Dalton Hall.

Kilvington Cares

This year, the Kilvington Cares Food Program delivered over 35 delicious home-cooked meals to those in our community who needed some extra care and assistance.

This anonymous and heartfelt service could not operate without the amazing leadership of Kilvington Cares Coordinator, Lou Cooper, and the army of cooks who volunteer to help with this amazing program. Thank you so very much.
