What's making news this fortnight
Welcome Back
We're off and running for 2023 with a really positive start: smiling faces; happy and engaged students and a calendar packed with great activities and events. Below are the highlights of the first two weeks:
Parent/Carer Welcome Breakfasts
We think we may have hit the jackpot in terms of timeslot with our breakfast welcome events this week as we had so many parents and carers attend.
We would love your feedback on this, with one quick question here:
Staffing Updates
- Daniel Lloyd has stepped in as Acting Assistant Principal this term while Carolyn West is on leave
- Jamie Fuller is the Upper Middle Years' Unit Leader this term
- Lisa Warren is now the full time Senior Years' Unit Leader
- We have some fantastic new staff, some from overseas, who have fitted in beautifully to our VRS community.
Student Free Day - Tuesday
This Tuesday 14th February is a student-free day. There will be no classes running.
All staff will be completing professional development training with Real Schools on restorative practices.
New School Update
The Victorian School Building Authority has released their Design Engagement Report, summarising your thoughts & ideas for our future home at Wanganui Park.

Swimming Carnival
We're looking forward to our Middle Years and Senior Years Swimming Sports day, to be hosted at the Tatura Outdoor Pool next Friday. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.
Reminder: Drop off & Pick up Times
To ensure safety of our students in the carpark please only drop off or collect your child at the following times:
Morning: 9:15am
Afternoons: 2:45 or 3:15pm
Permission Packs
Parents/carers are reminded to please return their permission packs ASAP, if they haven't already.
These are required before we can commence some curricular activities, such as Community Access bus excursions.
If you have lost your pack or need help completing it, please contact the Front Office (5821 8185) or your child's teacher.
