College Awards Night 2022

2022 saw the return to the McClelland College Awards Night for the first time in three years!  In what was a fantastic night, multiple students were rewarded for their hard work and achievements over the course of the year.

 

To begin the night, our College Captains for 2023, Carla Azzopardi and Angus Archard, introduced themselves and their aspirations for the coming year.  Congratulations to them both for their success in achieving their roles! 

 

The top performing academic students for each year level were also presented with awards on the night, with the student in bold font being crowned the DUX for 2022.

A new set of awards on the evening were the Swan Plumbing Encouragement Awards presented to students for their grit, determination and potential to succeed. Generously sponsored by Swan Plumbing, the Encouragement Awards provide $100 for one student at Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 with a final award handed out to a Senior student at Valedictory.  The award winners were 2022 were:

Year 10 - Jasmin Salah

 

The Colin Bowes Perpetual Memorial Shield, awarded to a Junior student who exemplifies leadership, mentoring, integrity and community involvement, was presented to Benjamin Clarke.  

The Sports Achievement Award went to Mackenzie Zach.

The Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership & Teamwork Award was presented to Noah Bailey.

The Australian Defence Force Future Innovators Award was presented to Sebastian Petersen.

The Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program, which is an academic enrichment program at University of Melbourne designed to support high-achieving Victorian school students whilst in their final years of school, was presented to Sarah Maguire.

The Skyline Foundation Scholarship is part of a program which recognises students who demonstrate commitment to achieving educational goals and who display a growth mindset, leadership potential. The Foundation assists students to find pathways to further study and employment, becoming leaders for changeThis year the scholarship was presented to Joe Crowle.

The ABCN Accelerate Scholarship Highly Commended Award was presented to both Jorjah Davies and Mikayla Johnston.

The Ajjampur Science Scholarship is a scholarship funded by the Ajjampur family and is awarded to a Year 11 VCE student who is studying at least one science subject.  We are fortunate to have families such as the Ajjampurs who provide not only their  financial support in the form of scholarships but also their time to the College. After careful consideration, the Ajjampurs will award two Science Scholarships to the value of $500 to both Dayna Corkery and Mitch Przyblowski.

The Year 11 Insight Education English Award was presented to Emily Crawley.
