Christmas Hamper Drive

Attention Business Owners!

An exciting opportunity exists at Moama Anglican Grammar beginning in 2023 for Business owners.

Students in Year 9 and 10 will be participating in Student Interest modules (SIMs) across the year, completing eight, 5 week sessions running each Wednesday afternoon. We would love your business or group to consider being involved in this upcoming enriching opportunity. We are looking for a range of partnerships including but not limited to, presenters to talk about careers, opportunities to visit workplaces, loaning or hiring of equipment, advice to students, coaching or mentoring in industry, or even the potential  use of facilities.

We understand that some these activities may have a cost involved, and we are happy to cover these so that you are not out of pocket. We believe that these partnerships are mutually beneficial, as it exposes our students to your business- which can lead to opportunities for your business, as potential junior staff,  or club as members or volunteers outside of this program. We also hope that this program will give our students a greater sense of what is in the local community and what activities are available to them.

At this stage we are only after expressions of interest in being involved.  Our students will be selecting their SIMs soon and then we will be finalising the activities that will run for the first half of 2023.

If you would like to suggest an activity that your club or business could offer, we would be more than happy to work with you and put it in our selections for the second half of 2023.

Thank you for taking the time to consider a partnership, and please feel free to contact me to discuss your potential involvement,

Regards,

Greg Cadd

Head of Secondary

Bus Travel to and From School for                             NSW Residents

NSW residents 2023 school travel applications are now open.

Applications for students who reside in NSW (both town and rural) and require school bus travel in 2023 opened from Monday 10 October 2022.  Refer to the NSW Transport website for full details. NSW students who need a School travel pass for 2023 can apply now. A new application will need to be submitted:

  • if they are applying for the first time,
  • or if they are requesting an additional travel entitlement as a result of a new
shared parental responsibility situation (e.g. joint custody).

Students who change address, school, campus location, have repeated a year or received an expiry notification from Transport for NSW for their school travel entitlement should

renew or update their details before the end of term 4. This will ensure that schools can endorse applications, and entitlements remain valid for the start of the 2023 school year.

If a student's distance eligibility has changed based on their grade (i.e. grade two to grade three), the system will automatically update their entitlement if they meet the new criteria. If they do not meet the new eligibility criteria, we will send an expiry notification via email.

Students who have an entitlement approved under a medical condition that is due to expire will receive a notification advising them to re-apply.

Students living in rural and regional (R&R) areas should receive their travel pass at the start of the new school year from their nominated transport operator. It may come via the school or be sent directly to them at home. Note: some R&R operators do not issue travel passes. Students/parents should confirm with their nominated operator if they do not receive a pass.

In Year 7 to Year 12, if the distance from home to bus stop exceeds 2 km (straight line distance) or 2.9 km walking distance.
