Year 12 Business Management

Year 12 VCE Business Management students are required to understand effectiveness and efficiency in regard to raw materials and labour. Their teacher, Mr Hughes, thought a great way to start the new year was with an applied learning activity in efficiency. So with books left in lockers, students were required to sort and separate 375 grams of Mallee Lentils into a saleable product. Virtually no instructions were given however a good supply of sieves, baking paper, ziplock bags, scales and freshly harvested Lentils were available. It was amazing to see the attention to detail and innovative techniques that the students used. Overall, a very rewarding task and it is hoped when this concept of efficiency and effectiveness is presented in assessments, the students will remember their first day activity in Business Management.
