Library News

WELCOME TO A NEW YEAR!

Welcome to a new term here at the library! We are excited and looking forward to a brand-new year of literacy, understanding and fun. Term 1 has some amazing things planned for the library, including borrowing resumed for primary and secondary classes, as well as welcoming the new prep-grade 2 classes to Storytime sessions. Some ongoing projects throughout the library include genre categorising the remaining senior fiction. This will provide an additional way for browsing and allowing students to find interesting books within their library sessions. The Library team (Jen, Karen & Meg) will continue to provide an enthralling space for staff and students at Kyabram P-12 College, where the library maintains an essential part of student excellence and enjoyment. We look forward to working with you for 2023!

BE A STAR READER IN TERM 1

The Star Reader Award Program pays recognition to a couple of students each term, which highlight outstanding reading and commitment to their learning. Get involved by demonstrating your love of reading, pick some new and different books, and ask the library team if you need some guidance when selecting your next book. You could be the next Star Reader!

BOOK CLUB IS OUT!

The latest issue of Book Club is out now! If you are wishing to put in an order, please make sure you have it in by the due date (see below). If you have any questions regarding anything ‘book club’, The library is more than happy to assist you.  FYI: Please return by Friday the 17th of February

LIBRARY LOVERS’ DAY: CELEBRATE VALENTINE’S DAY ALL WEEK LONG!

This day is known for celebrating love, yes, but it’s also Library Lover’s Day on February 14! The day is dedicated to book lovers across the globe, while it also honours libraries and the amazing life-changing books they hold within them. During Valentine’s week, the library will display many fun activities and opportunities to get involved with loving your library. From Library Lover’s Day on Tuesday 14th February, we encourage you to celebrate the valuable roles libraries play in our lives and to re-engage with our libraries and 'show the love'.

Many Thanks,

The Library Team: Jen, Karen, Meg
