Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

Child Safety

Last week a truck drove through a red light at the Pedestrian School Crossing on Police Road and very nearly hit two of our students. Thanks be to God, both of the students looked before crossing the road (even though the green light was showing for pedestrians to cross the road, and the School Crossing Supervisor had blown their whistle for the students to use the crossing).  The two students stepped backwards towards the kerb as they saw this vehicle coming towards them. Each of our children's lives are so precious and vulnerable. We have spoken to the students and encourage you at home to talk about looking both ways before crossing the road even if the light is green for them to go. Sometimes humans make mistakes, so we need to take extra care to keep ourselves safe, even in the face of human error.

Awards Assemblies

We will gather this week to acknowledge and celebrate some outstanding efforts throughout the year by our students with our Awards Assemblies in the Wheeler Auditorium. Parents/Guardians/Carers are most welcome to attend. The details are below:

Year 9-11  Awards Assembly:           9.00am Thursday 1 December 2022

Year 7 & 8 Awards Assembly:           9:00am Friday 2 December 2022

Last Day for 2022

A reminder that school concludes on Friday 2 December 2022. As is the our custom, we begin the year asking God’s blessing on the year with a whole school Mass and conclude the year with our Mass of Thanksgiving together as a community. The Mass will be in the Wheeler Auditorium at  12.00pm on Friday 2 December 2022. Following the Mass students will be dismissed for their summer break at 1.10pm.

Thank You

As we come to the end of the year I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all our community, students, staff, and parents/families/carers for all of your support this year. After two years of lockdown we have been blessed to be able to run a full calendar and it has been a great and busy year. I hope all families have a great break together and enjoy the sacred family time.

As we look forward to Christmas, I pray that the love, peace and joy of the birth of the Christ Child fill your hearts and family this Christmas and you have a happy, holy and peaceful Christmas.

God Bless
