President's Report - AGM 2022

Our current Strategic Plan has served us well but this year it was time to renew it. The ISQua Board have carefully reviewed it to provide you, our Members, with a refreshed and updated plan for 2022 – 2026.
The fundamental elements of the strategy remain essentially unchanged:
- Our Vision: to be the global leader of transformation in healthcare quality and safety for all.
- Our focus is on Knowledge-Network-Voice and we have now added Action, as knowledge is not knowledge for its own sake.
- Our key mission components: quality and safety; education and knowledge sharing; external evaluation; supporting health systems; connecting people globally.
The aim of our goals is to add value to members and stakeholders, extend our reach and engage productively with our partners.
The world has changed profoundly and ISQua always seeks to be ahead of the curve no matter the challenge.
We continue to strengthen our engagement in lower- and middle-income settings and despite tough times, we remain financially sustainable. Ezequiel Garcia Elorrio, our Honorary Treasurer, will provide more details on our finances. I would like to thank Ezequiel, and the Finance and Audit committee, for their continued work.
I would like to thank the Irish Department of Health and the Irish Government who had been generous with ongoing support to the Society and its work.
I would also like to extend my thanks to the following.
- The CEO, Carsten Engel, and the ISQua Team in Dublin, who through their hard work and dedication, make ISQua work efficiently, and I will take this opportunity to extend this appreciation to them on behalf of members and stakeholders.
- The entire Board and its governance Committees.
- The Academy members, Experts, and Stakeholders who work with us.
- The ISQua partners, Academicians, Institutional and Individual Members and Fellows.
Thank you for your continuous support of ISQua.
Prof Jeffrey Braithwaite
