PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Our Juniors have loved completing small sided games that focus on their kicking, dribbling and trapping skills. They have progressed so much when controlling the ball with their feet and we have finished the unit really positively!

Our Middle and Senior students have completed with their Touch Rugby unit, organised through our Sporting Schools Grant. Students have started utilising the backwards pass and strategitic movement on the field to be successful when playing a game. 

We will finish the year playing some games that students have enjoyed the most that focus on teamwork, cooparation and applying a range of skills with strategy. These games include Capture the Flag, T-ball and other minor games.

LOTE - AUSLAN

All grades have been busily learning the signing song 'Love Generation' - it is coming together amazingly and we can't wait to share it at the end of year concert!

Our Junior students have been learning to sign descriptive sentences about a favourite family memory. There has been signs about Christmas, Easter, camping and other holiday trips. 

Our Middle and Senior students have loved creating their own Auslan games that are focused on an Auslan topic that we have learnt this year. Games have been based on snakes and ladders, monopoly and a variety of card games. We are so excited to be able to play all the games in the last few weeks which focus on feelings, food and family.

STEAM: Science, Technology & The Arts

We have completed our Physical Science units on Sound for P-2, Forces for 3-4’s and Light and Shadows for the 5-6’s. We have all moved onto using Code.org for our units on Algorithms and coding. The preps have had support from the seniors to learn to drag and drop. The1-2’s and 3-4’s are learning about what algorithms and codes are and how to use directional arrows to complete a line of code. They will be moving online over the next week to continue developing their skills. The 5-6’s have been working online using Sprites and blocks of code to make fish tanks and moving visuals to control the sprites. It is very creative and lots of fun!
