Junior Hoop time Basketball State finals - All Star Boys

On Monday 1st December, the Junior All Star Boys team proudly represented our school at the Hoop Time Basketball State Finals, held at the State Basketball Centre. The boys earned a wildcard entry into the state finals after a stellar performance at the regional level.

Across the morning session, the team played four round-robin games (2 x 8-minute halves), finishing with two wins and two narrow losses. Their teamwork and determination saw them place third in their pool, securing a spot in the afternoon elimination finals.

In a tightly contested match against Warrandyte PS, the boys fought hard but were defeated by just 5 points.

This is an outstanding achievement!  291 All Star Boys teams competed throughout the year across Victoria, and our team finished in the top 20 in the state!

The boys also proudly took part in the Championship Parade. A huge thank you to Mr Tim Dawson for coaching, and to Mr Rob Sprague for managing and scoring on the day. Special thanks to all the parents who attended to cheer on and support the team.

Well done, boys!

Student Reflections

Declan S 4P - On Monday, 1st December, we had State Hooptime. We won the first game, lost the second, won the third and lost the fourth. Then we made it to the elimination final and then we lost that by 5 points. It was fun hanging out with my friends and playing state.

Joshua D 4P - On the first of December, Bo, Josh, Danny, Tommy, Pat, Hunter M and Declan went to the State Basketball Centre. We made it to the elimination final, but we lost by five points. Then we had a parade with all the Hooptime teams. We watched a bit of the Grand Final, that the team that beat us was in, and they were getting smashed, so we left. We had a great time and loved it.
