5/6 Genius Hour: Inclusive and Adaptive Sports
This semester Year 5 and 6 students have been learning about inclusive and adaptive sports as a part of their Genius Hour project. In term 3, we were fortunate enough to have Maurice and Rob from Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria come and speak to us about what it is like to be blind and play a sport. They told us all about the different sports that can be played and how the sport is adapted for people who are blind. It was a very inspiring session!
Students then worked in groups to research different adaptive and inclusive sports, learning about how the sport is modified and inspirational athletes who play the sport. The last part of the project is for each group to design their own inclusive and adaptive sport which will then be played by the students.
5/6 Digital Technology: Sphero Mini Golf Courses
For Digi Tech this term students have been working in groups to design and construct a mini golf course for a sphero. A sphero is a robotic ball that can be programmed or coded.
Each group has come up with their own unique designs while making sure their sphero can travel through the course.
Our Genius Hour and Digital Technology Showcase will be on Friday 12th of December. Parents are invited to attend the showcase to see our Genius Hour posters and mini golf courses in action! More details to come.
