Art Show

On Friday, November 21st, we held our annual Art Show, celebrating the incredible creativity on display at Preston Primary School.
It was another wonderful and successful evening, with our vibrant school community coming together to enjoy the festivities. One of the true highlights of the night was watching our students proudly guide their families and friends through the stunning displays in the Milking Shed.
As we often tell them, the Art Show is such a special event because they are such talented artists. As Pablo Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist.”
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many parents, grandparents, and friends who shared such kind feedback about the quality and diversity of the artworks.
Our students work tirelessly throughout the year to create exceptional pieces, and we are immensely proud of every one of them. A huge thank you also to the wonderful parents who volunteered on the night—whether at the BBQ, serving, selling, or helping in other ways. We truly couldn’t run this event without your generosity and support.
A special thank you to Jessica Prescott for her help with the setup—an enormous task, and one we deeply appreciate. We’d also like to acknowledge our fabulous teachers who assisted in tasks before and throughout the evening. Your ongoing support means the world to us, and we couldn’t do this without you.
This year, Ms Paterson’s Principal’s Award was presented to Freida Z from 6AB.
Huge congratulations to Freida! Her beautiful portrait of her friend was very impressive – the shading, colouring and reflections were outstanding and her hard work and dedication is evident.
In the coming weeks, students will be bringing their artwork home—some families may even find a piece arriving as an early gift. Many of these artworks are certainly frame-worthy and will look wonderful displayed proudly in homes.
To our talented band and choir members—well done! It takes real courage and commitment to perform the way you did, and we loved hearing all the wonderful music you’ve shared throughout the year. And of course, a big thank you to the teachers who rehearse with them each week. A job beautifully done!
It has been another fantastic year in both the Junior and Senior art rooms. We congratulate all our students, who arrive each week eager to create and consistently produce remarkable work. We are incredibly proud of your dedication and creativity.
We look forward to another inspiring year of creating beautiful masterpieces in 2026. Thank you all for your ongoing support.
Happy creating,
Edwina and Mavra
