ReCranked in Schools

This term we are excited to welcome the ReCranked in Schools to Miners Rest.

ReCranked in Schools (RiS) offers students a chance to engage in practical, hands-on bike maintenance and restoration. Delivered by the ReCranked team, selected students will participate in 8 sessions across the term, with each session being 1 hour in duration.

What is RiS about? RiS is a strength-based, engaging program designed to develop key personal and social skills through the medium of bicycle repair and restoration. Students will:

  • Learn practical bike maintenance and restoration techniques
  • Build confidence and a sense of achievement
  • Develop teamwork and communication skills
  • Engage in learning in a way that is accessible and fun

This program provides a positive, inclusive space where young people can thrive through practical learning and relationship-building. We are very excited to include ReCranked into our school community and welcome the opportunities it will provide our children.
