Times Tables Rock Stars – Melbourne Rocks! 

Our Year 6 students recently took part in Melbourne Rocks, an exciting online competition run by Times Tables Rock Stars.

To keep things fair between different schools and classes, scores were worked out as an average. This means the total number of correct answers was divided by the number of students who played (with at least 10 players counted). To ensure balance, each student’s playtime was capped at one hour per day during the competition.

The best part? Every answer counted! Whether students were just beginning their times tables journey or already maths rock stars, every effort helped the whole class climb the leaderboard.

With 179 schools competing from 2–4 September, Wales Street proudly placed 8th overall – an outstanding achievement worth celebrating!

We’d love families to encourage students across Years 3–6 to log in to their Times Tables Rock Stars accounts regularly. Building these habits now, especially for our current Year 5s, will give them the practice and confidence they need to aim for 1st place in 2026!
