    Westpac Young Technologists                                Scholarships

Awarded to up to 35 students a year, the Young Technologists Scholarship is open to talented and inquisitive CSP high school graduates looking to strengthen their passion and expertise in technology to innovate and create new opportunities and inspire good in the world of STEM. 

 

Applicants will need to apply for approved technology-related degrees at one of five partner universities:

 

Students who want a diverse and exciting career working at the cutting edge of technological innovation are encouraged to apply for an eligible course at the above-mentioned universities. Successful recipients will receive $15,000 over three years to help support their undergraduate studies in technology, and will also have access to paid internships and inspiring mentors. In addition, students may receive a further $5,000 to cover the cost of attending the Disruptive Leaders Program.

Bachelor of Digital Business

 

 

Students will gain practical, real-world experience with industry partners as they work through industry-specific datasets, software, workshops, live projects and more.  Students will learn to assess how to apply emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence in ways that positively impact both business and society, while developing prized knowledge and skills in cybersecurity and big data.

Accounting Careers - An accounting degree from Monash Business School opens doors to diverse careers – from forensic accountant to CEO or cybersecurity analyst. Fine Arts and Music Degrees in 2026

 

 

Year 12 students applying for the following Fine Arts or Music courses at the University of Melbourne for 2026 should note that, besides the VCE prerequisites of Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL, these courses have extra-requirements for eligibility to be selected.

The Future of Cyber Security

 

 

Cybercrime is an increasing problem in our digitally connected world. The rapid growth of cybercrime has created unparalleled opportunities for those with cyber security expertise, with jobs in the Database & Systems Administrators & ICT Security sector predicted to increase by 38.9% by November 2026 according to Australian Government data.

 

 Deakin’s courses are industry-specific, so students graduate with up-to-date knowledge of the issues important to the industry – like implementing security technologies to protect against hackers or developing IT security solutions. Students can undertake an internship and complete industry cyber security certifications as part of their course.  This means they can stand out to future employers and be ready to take advantage of the significant increase in jobs in the field.

Bachelor of Educational Studies

 

 

This course is a pathway for students who are passionate about becoming teachers but do not meet the admission rank for their desired pre-service teacher degree. Eligible students who successfully complete their first year of study (subject to meeting certain progression and non-academic requirements) may apply for transfer into the second year of the Bachelor of Education suite of courses.

 

This 3-year degree allows students to gain the necessary knowledge to pursue a career in corporate training, educational consultancy, online learning, vocational and community education, curriculum writing, youth services or adult learning, but will not lead to early childhood, primary or secondary teacher registration in Australia.  Should teaching be the end goal, students who complete the Bachelor of Educational Studies can progress to a postgraduate Initial Teacher Education qualification.
