The Year 6 Exhibition: Celebrating Growth and Setting Students Up for Success

At St Columba’s, we are proud to see the growth of every learner across our school. As an IB PYP school, we value not only what our students learn but also how they learn, nurturing curiosity, independence, and a genuine love of inquiry. Each year, our students build on their skills as thinkers, communicators, and collaborators, developing the confidence to take action and make a difference in their world.

This term, our Year 6 students have embodied these qualities through their PYP Exhibition, a culminating experience that represents the richness of their learning journey. Centred around the transdisciplinary theme How We Express Ourselves, students are exploring the diversity of voice, perspective, and creativity through the musical Nemo JR. They are investigating how expression connects us, how stories can inspire change, and how collaboration brings ideas to life. The Exhibition is a celebration of voice, agency, and the ability to apply learning with purpose.

As we look ahead to high school, we know these experiences have set our students up for success. The independence, resilience, and reflection developed through the Exhibition prepare them to approach new challenges with confidence and compassion. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the way they have grown as lifelong learners,  ready to embrace the next chapter of their education with courage and curiosity.

We invite our school community to join us in celebrating our Year 6 students and their incredible learning journey. The Exhibition will be held Thursday, 13 November, from 5:00–6:00 pm, and again on Friday, 14 November, from 9:00–11:00 am.

This is an excellent opportunity to honour our Year 6 learners as they share their growth, passions, and understanding. At the same time, we come together as a community to engage and learn alongside them.
