A message from the Principal
Settling into the New Term
As we begin Term 3, our focus has been on implementing three new routines, which we began preparing for at the end of Term 2. These routines are:
- Getting Student Attention
- Entering the Classroom
- Exiting the Classroom
So far, the routines have been implemented smoothly across the school, and the students have done a great job embracing them. These routines are already being rolled out in half of the schools within the diocese, and in a month's time, we will be welcoming visitors from Knowledge Society to observe how we are progressing with these initiatives.
Gymnastics Program Commences
On Friday, 25th July, all of our students took part in their first visit to Jet's Gym in Golden Square. The Prep - Year 4 students will enjoy 5 weeks of gymnastics, while the Year 5/6 students will have 3 weeks every Friday. The participation was fantastic, and the manners displayed by our students were highly commendable. Great work, everyone! We look forward to sharing more photos and celebrating further achievements throughout the program.
Congratulations Preps – 100 Days of School
This Tuesday, 29th July, our Prep students will celebrate a wonderful milestone—100 days of school! This is a significant achievement in their learning journey, and we are proud of all they have accomplished so far. The theme for their celebration is "bright," and the students will be wearing bright clothes to mark this exciting occasion. Congratulations to our Preps for their hard work and enthusiasm as they reach this fantastic milestone!
School Improvement Tool (SIT) Review
From Tuesday 29th July to Thursday 31st July, we will be hosting a School Improvement Tool (SIT) Review at St. Peter's. During this time, we will welcome three reviewers from ACER, who will observe our learning environment, speak with staff, students, and parents, and gain a better understanding of the educational experience at our school. This review provides us with the opportunity to reflect on our current practices and progress towards improving the quality of teaching, learning, and student wellbeing. We look forward to engaging in this valuable process with our visitors.
Catholic Identity Review
This Friday, 1st August, we will also be hosting a Catholic Identity Review. We are excited to welcome Kylie Smith from the RE Team at CESL and another reviewer who will be joining us to assess our commitment to Catholic values and identity within our school. This review is an important part of ensuring that we continue to grow as a faith-based community.
Upcoming School Closure – 13th August
A reminder that Wednesday, 13th August will be a Pupil Free Day for all schools in the Sandhurst Diocese. This day will be dedicated to a Spirituality Day, offering our staff the chance for reflection and reconnection. Please note that there will be no school for students on this day. Be sure to mark this on your calendar.
Learning Conversations – Thursday 14th August
We are pleased to announce that Learning Conversations will take place on Thursday, 14th August, from 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm. This is a valuable opportunity for parents and teachers to meet, discuss your child’s progress, celebrate their successes, and identify any areas for further development.
Please be sure to book a time with your child’s teacher(s) to participate in these important conversations. As we did last semester, school will finish at 2:15 pm on this day to allow for the Learning Conversations to begin promptly at 2:30 pm. If you are unable to pick up your child at the usual time, we will have supervision available for students in the Knuldoorong until 3:15pm. There will also be a sausage sizzle.
Prayer for the Week
Loving God,
As we begin this new term, help us to walk in faith, guided by Your love and wisdom.
Bless our students, staff, and families with joy, peace, and patience as we grow and learn together.
May we continue to support one another with kindness and compassion, and may this term be filled with new opportunities to strengthen our community.
We ask this in Your name.
Amen.
God Bless,
Jeremy Darmody
