Yard Duty and Games on the Synthi
Please take the time to teach your students about good sportsmanship when playing games on the synthi or in other areas of the yard. These skills must be taught, they don't come naturally.
Make it very clear that there is no tackling games at CPS nor is there a 'gentle' version such as 'bear hugging' footy. This leads to tackling and lots of physical incidents. When playing footy, kick to kick is the best way to avoid accidents.
🐝 Prime Minister's Spelling Bee
Compass consent for the competition will close next Monday (11th August). Therefore from Tuesday you can do your final add of students participating into the teacher portal.
Please work out with your year level team when you will run the competition between Tuesday 12th-Thursday 21st August. It doesn't have to be at the same time and might avoid network errors if spread out.
It might be helpful to send out information to your class as to when you have decided to run the competition to avoid having to catch absent students up.
You will need to make sure students have access to a pair of headphones and an iPad (Contact Simeon if you need to borrow NAPLAN headphones).
If you are a Yr 3-6 teacher, please make sure you do the following before your planned competition time:
- Make sure you have created a teacher account
- Added your students to the portal who have consented (first name and last initial only)
- Confirm they have consent by clicking the toggle after adding them
- Read the following document which has a step-by-step guide on running the competition (there are multiple tabs)
Don't forget information including practice lists and practising on the portal can be found on the drive.

Le Brevet
The Principal at Auburn High let us know that AHS Brevet results are in and they are the best ever. Over 45% of students were placed in the highest level possible. 22%+ have then received well above. Amazing. The two highest students were from CPS and both from non-French backgrounds.
