Welcome back to Term 3

Doors Update

• The damaged Yaluk doors in Rooms 25, OT, and Visual Art have been repaired and reinforced.
• The front and side double doors have been rehung and are now fully accessible.
• Some door closers are still damaged—spare parts have been ordered. In the meantime, please take extra care when opening and closing these doors.

Additionally, the sliding doors in the primary corridor have been refurbished and now slide very easily. Please ensure that fingers—yours or your students'—are kept clear when closing them.

Primary Breezeway Update

Jacob has painted the previously damaged board with blackboard paint. This area can now be used to leave written messages or drawings for friends—feel free to get creative!

Fire Blanket & Signage Reminder

As part of the end-of-term inspection, all classrooms must check the condition and accessibility of their fire blanket and relevant signage.

Please remember:

• Every classroom contains toasters and sandwich toasters, which are considered fire hazards.
• Fire blankets MUST be accessible at ALL times – they are a critical safety item.
• Do NOT store fire blankets inside or on top of cupboards. This is not considered accessible.

If students are currently accessing the fire blanket, please speak with me or Mary to find a more appropriate and accessible location.

If your room requires a fire blanket sign or fire extinguisher sign, log the request on the Maintenance Log and it will be provided.

Yaluk Odour

Part of the work to rectify the odours in the foyer and end of the gym has been completed. We expect the second part to occur shortly.

Visibility into classrooms - 

• Safety Concerns - it is important that staff (or students) do not block visibility into your classrooms. Knowing what is happening outside your classroom ensures you don't  (or allow students to) walk out into an inappropriate situation. 
• Clear windows allows any staff coming to support you and the opportuity to assess a situation before they come into a classroom. 
• At times, students (and others) can make  allegations and accusations about staff behaviour. Maintaining visibility into your classroom is in you own professional interest, as it supports that all your actions are open to scrutiny at all times.
