Leader of Pedagogy

Throughout the course of 2023, the staff at O'Connor Catholic College have engaged in professional learning in order to consider the way that students are engaging with content and taking the steps towards driving their own learning. This is consistent throughout afternoon meetings but also in professional learning sessions. 

Recently at O’Connor Catholic College, we spent some time exploring the Gradual Release of Responsibility model that focuses on modeling the learning process and then providing collaborative and independent opportunities in order to demonstrate the learning. This model is utilised throughout the Armidale Diocese and the schools that are part of that system. 

This model provides an opportunity for students and staff to engage with the learning, making it explicit through utilising learning intentions and success criteria, providing opportunities for students to achieve success.
