Prepartory Fire Incursion

This term, our lucky Preparatory students got to participate in two fire incursions. The first session was on the 9th October. The students got to learn all about good fires and bad fires; they also got to see what a firefighter wears in an emergency. The second session was on Tuesday 17th October. The students got to go in the fire truck and have a go at operating the firehose. Thank you to our amazing firefighters for this wonderful experience!

The Colour Run - A Spectacular Day of Smiles, Laughter, and Unity!

What a joy it was to see the smiles, laughter and happiness surrounding our school grounds on Wednesday 18th October during our Colour Run. What a beautiful day it was! The sun shone brightly in the sky, and the air was filled with laughter, cheers, and vibrant splashes of colour.

Our school community came together in full force, with a fantastic turnout of parents who joined in the fun and supported our little runners. The sight of parents, teachers and children all gathered to celebrate this event was heartwarming. As one of our enthusiastic students, Eddie N, put it, "It is nice to see all the kids and parents having a big smile on their face!"

The kids, as expected, were beyond excited. Ellie H summed it up perfectly, saying, "Everyone was so excited to be out there and go for a run!" Their enthusiasm was infectious, creating an atmosphere of pure joy that truly lit up the day.

We owe a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated parent community for helping organise this fantastic whole-school event and for joining in to splash some colour on our students. The vibrant hues in the air mirrored the colourful spirit of our community, and it wouldn't have been possible without their support. A special thanks goes to Aimee MacFarlane, Jo Haddock, and Belinda Dalton for their organisation and leadership. As Elliot W noted, "Thank you to Mr Cotching, Ms Kirwan and parent helpers for making this day happen!"

All the money raised during the Colour Run will go towards supporting our school. Your selflessness and willingness to give back to our school have not gone unnoticed. For that, we are very grateful.

In the words of one of our students, Lulu C, "It was such a beautiful day to celebrate the Colour Run!" The event brought our school community closer together and we couldn't have asked for a more wonderful day to do so.

Once again, thank you to everyone who made the Colour Run a resounding success. Your participation, your smiles and your generosity have made a significant impact on our school community.

Circus Skills Incursion

Today a touch of magic came to Chatham Primary School. The very special circus program arrived! Prep to Year 5 students all participated in a rich seam of skills and experiences.

Activities included juggling, floor displays, balance routines, ribbons and much more. On top of the sheer joy of joining in, participation boosted student confidence and concentration levels, built invaluable teamwork skills, improved co-ordination and uncovered hidden talents.

We cannot wait for our next session on the 27th October.

Japanese Day

Dear Parents and Students,

We will be holding Japanese Day on Thursday the 2nd of November. Year 6 students will run activities for the students during the middle session of the day and students are asked to wear red and white to represent the colours of Japan.

The Japanese captains Adi and Gio will also be running a drawing competition, which will be judged on the day. If students would like to participate in that, could they please draw a picture of their favourite thing about Japan and ask their teachers to give their drawing to Rampant Sensei before Japanese Day on the 2nd November as the winners of the competition will be announced on that day.

Jump Rope for Heart kicks off this term!

We're thrilled to announce that Jump Rope for Heart is kicking off this term with a burst of energy and excitement!

Jump Rope for Heart is an incredible initiative by the Heart Foundation that brings fun and fitness to our primary school students while also contributing to lifesaving research and vital support programs.

The Chatham mission this term is to get our students moving, and we've got jump ropes ready to go right here on our school grounds! We invite everyone to join us in raising funds for this fantastic cause. Over the next few weeks, your child will not only learn new skipping skills, but also increase their physical activity levels and gain valuable knowledge about heart health.

This year, we have a goal: to see our Chatham students logging as many hours of skipping as possible throughout the program! When you register your child online, you'll gain access to extra skipping resources that will provide them with a fantastic incentive to step away from screens and enjoy some outdoor fun. To register your child Register your child online, and unlock the full program benefits, or simply follow this link: www.jumprope.org.au/parents

While students in Years 2-6 will be skipping during their PE lessons this term, we wholeheartedly encourage our Foundation and Year 1 students to jump in as well, whether it's at home or during school hours. You can share their online fundraising page with family and friends to help raise funds for this wonderful cause.

At the end of the program, there will be a special 'Jump Off' session during their PE lesson in the last week to celebrate their efforts and mark the program's conclusion.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program. Your involvement is making a real difference in the lives of our students and the crucial work of the Heart Foundation. Let's jump into this term with enthusiasm and make it a memorable one for our kids while promoting good health and a charitable spirit!
