Foundation Unit

Last week students partook in a Science incursion where they learned about forces. Students played with toys and learned about push and pull, friction, tension, gravity and torque. The students really enjoyed the day and even got to make a paper helicopter that involved push, torque and gravity.

Students also ran laps of the oval to raise awareness for kidney disease and dyslexia. Students were encouraged to wear a splash of red and run as many laps of the oval as they could.

Last week in Maths, students learned about patterns. They had to create, identify and explain their patterns and also copy and continue their peer’s patterns. This week students are beginning to learn about capacity. Students filled containers with sand and compared containers, identifying which one had the greater capacity.
