Craft
Most classes are working steadily on completing their term craft projects, ready for display at the Arts Festival.
The Prep children have just finished making long lengths of finger knitting and are working on their God Eye designs.
Class one has finished their sock bird toys using various fabrics and stitching styles. They are now working on their stuffed toys using hessian fabric and wool to stitch their designs together.
Class two/three students have finished their sunray cushions and are now working on their stuffed toys made from selected felt fabrics.
Class 3/4 are still very engaged in creating their own toy design based on a circular shape, using felt fabric and various stitching techniques.
The 5/6 students have completed their couching designs and are now working on their self-directed craft projects. Some students have selected to learn crocheting while others are making stuffed toys.
Grade six students are designing and making their graduation toys with great enthusiasm, imagination and flair.
To support student learning, parents are invited to assist in the art room. You will need a current working with children check. Please sign in at the office before you come to the art room.
Arts Festival Saturday 18th November
Watch out for all the community notices coming out on compass each Monday and Friday, asking for help from our TPS community.
From the art department I need help with supporting kids in the art room with the various art activities during the festival.
Friday 17th November is festival set up day so if you are able to help, please add your name to the sign-up form or get in touch with me.
This year we are encouraging students to run festival stalls to encourage student voice. If you are able to support your child in their stall or just help out generally by offering your support, please also sign up for student stalls.
