Class 5/6 Steiner

Celebrating Learning

Lutsamunny Banks Pty Ltd

Students have just completed their business main lesson culminating with writing loan applications for fake businesses, such as; A dog toy that is shaped as a shoe that dispenses food, a network to supply support for farmers, an Italian restaurant, a customised sports gear business, a customised lunch boxes business, a prank toys / items business, natural fibres for clothing and accessories company, a healthy cereal brand, a royal dog hotel daycare, and a bakery goods business.

Once these applications were created we were visited by a member of “Lutsamunny Bank” who helped to finance three of the businesses. Students created a rubric to be marked against a presentation of their application that included the persuasive writing they had added to their application and assessing their research into the multitude of things needed to organise the creation of a business.

Thoughts from the students about the loan application process.

Rosalie says “It was fun and yeah. I really enjoyed the secret guest banker*, they seemed really smart.

Teresa says “I like how we got to hear about each other's loan applications about getting money. It was quite interesting to have a banker* speak to us about our applications.

Pippa says “It was really fun. I won and the banker* totally wasn’t Eddie.

Mayla says “The dude* being there was cool and funny, and it made me feel and sound really smart, and I got a loan for my application.
