Class 1 Steiner

Celebrating Learning

Our class play has a date (Thursday the 16th of November) so the countdown is on!

Please let me know if you need another copy of the script to practise lines at home. Lots of students haven’t been using scripts during rehearsals, which is fantastic to see. During the past fortnight we have invited some of the preps and 2/3S to our rehearsals. These classes have been so supportive. 1S were nervous to have an audience but they came up with a mantra “I’m nervous, but I can do it!”. They have been chanting this before their performances.

Our rehearsals are in the morning, so please ensure students are at school on time so that they can join in.

1S have been enjoying reading so much this term! The students have been choosing lots of level appropriate chapter books from the library that they are very excited about. Thank you for your ongoing support with reading at home together and I hope you are enjoying these books also.

In Maths we’ve been continuing to explore division and working through problems such as this:

"You are having a birthday party and you’ve invited 4 friends. At this party there are going to be 10 scones, 9 slices of pizza, 5 cans of lemonade and 11 balloons. If you share these items equally with your friends, how many will they each get?"

These open-ended activities have led to lots of joyful discussions and problem solving amongst the students.
